Senior Fellow with the Project on International
Order and Strategy in the Foreign Policy program at
the Brookings Institution. He is a graduate of Yale
University’s School of Government and holds a PhD
in American History from American University. He
is a contributing columnist at The Washington Post;
and his latest book, The Ghost at the Feast: America
and Collapse of World Order, 1900-1941, released in
January 2023, is a comprehensive, sweeping history
of America’s rise to global superpower – from the
Spanish-American War to World War II.”
